It’s early…

It’s almost 11:30 Saturday night and, wonder of wonders, my sermon is finished for the morning…Amazing, but true. Of course, this has much more to do with the fact that I’ve been careful to snatch “work time” at the oddest of moments between doctors appointments for Sophia and everything else surrounding an infant that hadn’t yet celebrated her first week of life.

Ironically, I am preaching on last week’s passage (Jesus’ baptism and temptation) with a focus on the concept that Jesus has endured the temptations and hardships that we endure…thus we can actually make it through with the Holy Spirit’s help just as he did…this, when I’m quite certain that Jesus never actually encountered the sleepless realities of new parenthood.

Oh well…the key concept is the same - Mark cared about the fact that Jesus was an incarnation of God…not just a visitation. So, Christ became human… (that concept has taken on new vividness after all the diapers….) and we have hope.

Rambeling? I suppose. I guess I’ve got a little time to kill before the next feeding at midnight ;-)
