Hot Top!!!
Merry Christmas to me…from my wife!
I know it’s barely November and that all things Christmas ought to be put on hold until at least the day after Thanksgiving, if not the moment after sunset on the 24th of December, but my wife has graciously given me my Christmas present early this year.
It’s a Hot Top!
That means nothing to most of you, but I’m barely able to contain my excitement. I’ve been roasting my own coffee for about 2 years now using either a popper (yep, a hot-air, popcorn popper - one style actually works VERY well for roasting coffee) or a heat gun (I did that for about 6 months before the heatgun gave up the ghost). The problem with the popper method is that, although it produces excellent coffee, the amount is limited to about 100 grams. That’s not very much. The Hot Top can roast at least 250 grams (about a half a pound) probably even a little more.
Now I can roast enough to sustain JJ and I (including latte’s which I’ve used Illy for since I didn’t have the time to roast and grind it all). I can also roast enough to be able to share. If you’ve had fresh roasted coffee you’re missing out. It’s nothing like the “gourmet” drivel that’s sold in most coffee shops and grocery stores.
In any case, why share? So that you can be thankful along with me
Grace and Peace,
`tim
