No Church Today…

Religious February 4th, 2007

I have to admit, I always feel a little bit guilty for enjoying “snow days.”  After all, aren’t ministers supposed to like church?  Well, not this time.  I do actually like church, but I’ve decided that snow days are a rare gift and that I ought to enjoy them.

No more guilty wondering if the people in our church think I’m trying to get out of doing my job.  No more frustrating over the possibility that someone’s going to think we shouldn’t have canceled.  No more worrying that someone didn’t get the message or obsessing about the likelihood that someone will make their way down here and be angry that there’s no services.  None of it.

No church today; I’m going to relax and enjoy it.  Just as importantly, since we canceled both morning AND evening services, I’m not going to get all worked up about the people who wouldn’t have come to the evening service because of that blasted football game either.

So, no church today.  Be safe and warm.  I’ll be home enjoying a gracious gift of God’s grace - the Sunday Snow Day.

Grace and Peace,

`tim

Must really be snowing out in Western MI, eh? We’ve only just had our first snow over an inch in Albany . . . way behind our usual averages.

In any event, I’ve always believed snow days are God’s way to tell us to ligthen up and take an extra Sabbath.
