Map my Ride

Biking (with pedals!), Ragbrai March 26th, 2007

If you haven’t heard about this website, you should check it out. It’s called “Map My Ride.” You can find it at:

www.mapmyride.com

The idea is simple; you put in the route your riding (or going to ride) and it figures out the mileage and elevation change, etc. You can also save the routes so others can take them, and keep track of your rides in a log. The print option doesn’t work yet (the site is still in BETA) but hopefully will soon. You can check out the rides I put up at:

I’ve e-mailed back and forth a couple of times with a member of their staff — talk about great people; FINALLY, a site with staff backing that’s a joy to work with!

Other options include exporting (and importing) with a GPS, importing your ride into Google world and taking a satellite tour of it, and much more.

Grace and Peace,

`tim
