Humbolt

Well, I made it to Humbolt. It was about another 80 miles. Although today went better than yesterday (I ate more… I think that was part of my problem yesterday. Stopped in several places along the way, talked to lots of people.

Today’s words?

  • Headwinds (again!)
  • Sun (again!)
  • Roasted corn on the cob.. yumm!

The biggest frustration today is that Humbolt apparently bends to big money. All of the good camping spaces were sectioned off for charters and RV’s… us lowly campers have been sent off about a half a mile to the middle of what must be some kind of motor-cycle track with dirt ramps, etc. Crazy.

Lance Update: Lance Armstrong is at Ragbrai this year (he’s also one of those RV’s….) I think I saw him today. Not sure though. As a matter of fact, I passed him (he was on the side of the road) and then his team plowed past me at about a thousand miles an hour as I slowly peddled my way on… he he he.

In short, it’s going well.

Grace and Peace,

`tim
