Just a few days left…
Well, I didn’t get nearly the training in I was hoping for… but… oh well, Ragbrai is just a few days off. One more sermon to write (and preach on Thursday evening)… then away we go. We’re off to eastern Iowa on Friday (spending the night at my sister-in-law’s place), then Rock Rapids […]

I have a very basic policy on customer service: If someone’s great, tell everyone; is someone’s awful, tell everyone. I think it’s fair. So, in light of that, I’m telling everyone how AWESOME VergeSport.com is. We ordered our jersey’s from there for Ragbrai. Prices beat everyone else on the web. […]

We had our July consistory meeting last night (postponed from last week because of the fireworks we were supposed to have then) and I have to say, the elders’ part was one of the best elders’ meetings we’ve ever had. Sometimes you just […]

“I don’t […]
Book Recommendation
I was doing some research last week on the Dunbar Number for an article on church size that I’m writing and ran across the book The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference by Malcolm Gladwell (New York: Little, Brown and Company Back Bay Books, 2000 - ISBN: 0-316-34662-4). The book is […]

The things my mom e-mails me…. (No wonder I’ve turned out like this.)
*****Forwarded Message Begins Here*****
“Dear Lord,” the preacher began with arms extended and a rapturous
look on his upturned face, “without you we are but dust…”
He would have continued, but at that moment one very obedient
little girl (who was listening […]
