In Paradisum
Announcements December 10th, 2007
In paradisum deducant te Angeli; in tuo adventu suscipiant te martyres, et perducant te in civitatem sanctam Ierusalem. Chorus angelorum te suscipiat, et cum Lazaro quondam paupere æternam habeas requiem.
May angels lead you into Paradise; may the martyrs receive you at your coming and lead you to the holy city of Jerusalem. May a choir of angels receive you, and with Lazarus, who once was poor, may you have eternal rest.
Yesterday evening on Sunday, December 9th, 2007, Dr. David Williams entered the nearer presence of his creator. Back in the days I studied music, Dr. Williams was my choir director and conducting instructor. He was a generous man and unusually gracious (I experienced this personally on a few occasions where the lyrics to solos somehow evacuated my mind in the middle of performance!) He also had an incredible Dracula impression!The funeral is tentatively scheduled for Thursday. Further arrangements have not yet been released.
God grant Dr. Petrie and the rest of his family strength, comfort and courage as the traverse the holiday season in the midst of mourning.
