Coming Soon: General Synod 2008
The yearly General Synod of the Reformed Church in America (RCA) will be taking place in Holland, MI from June 5th through the 10th and I have the privilege of serving as the facilitator for the Seminarian Seminar again this year. In short, it’s an opportunity to take around 20 seminarian students and walk them through the business of synod… For a synod junkie like me, it’s a blast!
If time and internet connection allow, I’ll also try to post some reasonably-regular updates here, on the blog, for those of you who care, but aren’t able to make it. For those of you not intimately familiar with the denominational peculiarities of the RCA, the General Synod is our highest denominational body - it can serve as either a legislative body or a judicatory and is responsible for all denominational policies, activities and theological decisions.
