WWKIP is June 14

Knitting & Tatting May 29th, 2008

WWKIP Day is just around the bend..  “What?!”  You ask.  You don’t know what WWKIP Day is?  Well, you learn something new every day: World Wide Knit in Public Day.

There might even be a meet-up, knit-in-public event near you.  Check out the website: http://www.wwkipday.com/

Otherwise, grab some needles… hit a local coffee shop and work a few rows.

I suppose, for many of you, this is about as exciting as International Tatting Day (April 1 — no joke, it really is!) or a yearly “go get a physical day” (ok, I don’t think that actually exists).  Even so, what a great opportunity to learn something new.  Find a friend who knits and see if s/he will teach you how.  It’s useful, fun, easy, stress-reducing, and cheap… well, four out of five isn’t bad.

If you just want to gawk a the crazies (those of us who knit in public), you can check out a bunch of pictures at the Flickr Photo Pool.  Especially check out this picture - cool needles!

Grace and Peace,

`tim

I’ll be getting off work that morning for the last time before the wedding (Yay!). I’ll also be going to a friend’s ordination, and hopefully there will be time to sleep somewhere in there.

Wow… the wedding is come almost crazy-soon! Are you getting all your knitting done for it?

Sleep… u don’t need no stinkin’ sleep! As a parent of a 2 1/2 year old who’s never been a sleeper, I can assure you it is entirely over-rated! :-) (and yet, at the exact same time, entirely under-appreciated!)

    Grace and Peace,
