Monday At General Synod
General Synod is up and running and, starting today, will be starting to make some major decisions. Until now there has been an immense amount of discussion but little actual business. That will change dramatically over the next 24 hours.
So far, there are couple of resources you may be interested in:
John Ornee’s Presidental Report is available here.
Wes Granberg-Michaelson’s General Secretary Report is available here.
Currently we are listening to introductions from the potential Vice-Presidential candidates. There are four of them - none of whom are individuals I would have expected (I believe this is a result of the fact that there has been so little business before the Synod so far and few people have had the chance to take the mikes.)
The ballots are in for the presidential election. Although they haven’t been announced, the Rev. Dr. Carol Bechtel is the only one on the ballot (As current vice-president.) I’ll be back shortly… they’re preparing to announce the election
Grace and Peace,
`tim
