Lex Orandi, Lex Credendi

Good afternoon everyone!

As far as I’m concerned, Ragbrai is now officially started!  To be fair, tomorrow will be our first day of riding, but we’re in Missouri Valley, IA ready to begin!  Yesterday we hit some rain just as we were crossing the Iowa/Illinois border.  We spent the night in Iowa City with some friends of Brenda’s (Brenda is JJ’s sister) - THANKS RABBIT AND BETH!!!  They have a beautiful house and were exceptional hosts!

It was a good drive out today, although we hit some traffic just west of Des Moines.   We even managed to stop at Taco Johns for lunch - one of my favorite fast food joints - not available in Michigan

It’s HOT!  Hotter than Hot!  It says 85 degrees and 66 percent humidity, but I don’t believe it.  I don’t know if it’s the sun or what, but it’s Hot!  We just spent an hour or so walking around the expo and I’ve been sweating up a storm.  We’re here, though, and our tents are set up and ready.  Hopefully the promised storms will hold off for a week or so! I suppose we should get used to it.  They just announced at one meeting that tomorrow is scheduled for 95 degrees and 92-95 percent humidity!! 

(Now, if I could only find the water hoses around here…. Hello?  Water?  I refuse to pay for you……)

There’s no card reader on this computer (and mine is back at the tent) so no pictures today…
