Day 3: Marshmallow Day…
No, there weren’t any marshmallows (although I did eat an oatmeal cream pie) - it was a short and easy day today: 56 miles and only one big hill!
Last night was a good night (no storms!) although the dew was so heavy I actually had a little puddle on the top of my bag (which I left outside for the night). Everything went back in the bag wet this morning but it’s nice and sunny right now and almost everything has dried out well.
I got into town today a little earlier than I had planned on (I told you, it was a short day!) but that’s actually great - I’m hoping to have dinner tonight with a couple college friends of mine: Tammy and Roger - actually, they were the first wedding I ever did. I’m not sure where we’ll meet, but Ames is (obviously) a college town and used to these numbers of people.
