FO: Cabled Scarf (FO=”Finished Object”)

Posted by teejtc on September 27th, 2008 filed in Knitting & Tatting

I usually try to keep some kind of a “brainless” knitting project in the car for those times when I’m waiting for someone or stuck at a train stop.  Since January, that project has been a cabled scarf from a book entitled “The Knitting Man(ual),” but I’ve been getting sick of it so decided to […]

Matthew 25 Network: Check it Out!

Posted by teejtc on September 27th, 2008 filed in Religious, Websites, Politics

I just saw the Matthew 25 Network on Facebook - Looks great so I thought I’d pass it on…

Especially interesting is the section called “Put Away Falsehood” which I find particularly helpful since so many of them are things I’ve actually heard people I know parroting.
Grace and Peace,

The Most Disturbing Hour of My Life

Posted by teejtc on September 26th, 2008 filed in Religious, misc.

I actually don’t thing I’m exaggerating here.
Today I received a DVD in the mail called “Obsession: Radical Islam’s War Against the West.”  It’s sent out by a group called “The Clarion Fund” (of whom VERY little is available on the web).  It’s disturbing, but ironically not in the way they intended it to be.  The […]

Need… to… take… a… break…

Posted by teejtc on September 22nd, 2008 filed in misc.

Need a break:  Yep.  I’m in the middle of thesisification.  Which, in case you’re wondering, has nothing to do with sisification… and everything to do with my thesis.  Starting last Thursday and ending on Wednesday, I’m plowing down on my thesis desperately hoping to get some catching up on the work that doesn’t seem to […]

The Last Nail in the Coffin

Posted by teejtc on September 18th, 2008 filed in Religious, Politics

I’ll admit, I dislike Dr. Dobson and his social/religious/political drivel.  Sure, some of his parenting stuff is decent (some of it, however is horrifying [and illegal in some situations] - like  using hot sauce as discipline on small children!)  Some of his relational advice is even pretty good (although his views on gender roles, relationships […]

Habitat Finished

Posted by teejtc on September 16th, 2008 filed in Religious, Knitting & Tatting

Despite a few problems, I did manage to finish BrooklynTweed’s pattern for Habitat last night!  It’s a great pattern and if you don’t know Jared’s work - check it out.  His knitting is incredible; his patterns are all awesome, and the pictures — every picture on his blog is worthy of publication.  He’s my knitting […]

Lakefront Property with an Indoor Pool

Posted by teejtc on September 16th, 2008 filed in Kevetching

Yep… The parsonage we’ve lived in for 8 1/2 years has recently become lakefront property with an indoor pool.  It’s unbelievable.  The rain we’ve experienced over the past half of a week has been incredible.  The problem is, it’s like watering out a dried-up old potted plant.
Have you ever done that?
Try it some time.  You […]

Myers Briggs Prayers

Posted by teejtc on September 12th, 2008 filed in Humor, misc.

This has been around for a LONG time, but I ran across it again and LOVE it!  I am incredibly ENFP - erm…. did you see that shiny thing…. - I really am ENFP.  If you’ve never taken the Myers Briggs, it can be very helpful.  (If you’re not rolling in $$$, check out the […]

I’m not one of those people

Posted by teejtc on September 6th, 2008 filed in Knitting & Tatting, Blogs, Websites

I’m not one of those people who wins things all the time.  You know, the people who put their names into contests at grocery stores and shopping malls and always seem to be winning TVs and DVDs.  That isn’t not me - I do occasionally put my name in those kinds of things, but never […]
