Urgh! If only I had known a week ago. I really struggled with the music for this week's worship. Thanks, Tim, for sharing your work...it's great to know that there are people out there working to keep the "old words" alive and relevant...and singable!

I just ran across something that seems to be in the same vein. This comes from the Norwegian composer Tron Kverno. Regarding church music (which is his preferred form) he says, "The performer is the entire congregation where everyone sings, or where some sing while others pray. The congregation is also an instrument. The music resounds through the faith of the universal church as an sacrifice to the Holy Trinity. The goal is the congregation's prayer, rather than aesthetic pleasure. The essential point is that the music hears us and interprets us before the throne of God, not that we hear the music."

Ach.... chemistry was never my thing. I'd suggest maybe a Cointreau or Triple Sec -- something cinnamon might work too!

I'll drop you some in the mail.

Grace and Peace,
